The freedom to create is the key connection between Fabio Kotinda and photography. There were many paths taken until his decision for “the art of interpreting the moment” through apparently diverse directions, such as engineering and fashion. The Brazilian artist began playing with the lenses in 1996 during an undergraduate Design course, where he enrolled after quitting his engineer career. At that time, he used to travel with his camera and tripod in his backpack seeking the best angle and the beauty of an unexpected moment for pure pleasure.
From 2001 to 2008 he had roles as a partner and creative Director at Designers Associados, Sopa Comunicação and Client By, design agencies where he acquired important skills such as expert eyes, sharp vision and the ability to identify a good image. These materials gave him a strong identity in his clicks.
However, it was on a trip to New York in early 2008 that he decided to focus on photography as a profession. In 2012, he lived and worked at Madrid, Spain. Where he shoot fashion and commercial jobs. Also, he clicked fashion editorials at Paris and New York.
Nowadays, Fabio is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil but always shooting and filming for clients all around the world. And he is committed to featuring his signature in artistic works that captures the attention and instigate the senses “A photo brings the power to capture a moment and to transmit to people an emotion so they can stop and spend some time admiring a picture. A photo that is not able to be admired is not transmitting anything.“
